We, Jade van Deventer & Clodagh Ní Chathmhaoil, are prefects of the Health Committee in Coláiste Íde, we are very active in promoting sport within the school. There are numerous sport teams in the college, for example basketball, football, rugby and camogie and students also have the opportunity to go horse riding and swimming. Our basketball coach Regina also conducts extra activities with students regularly, including badminton.  We have a great interest in rugby here in Coláiste Íde and we have an exceptional coach, Danno Ó Caoimh and we assist him in organising games. We are responsible for organising and maintaining the sports equipment room. We also assist the Physical Education teacher and prepare Cúirt Bhosco for the classes. A walking club has recently been organised which gives the students form first to sixth year the opportunity to walk with a group after dinner on a Tuesday and Thursday. It is our aim to increase the amount of sports equipment for the benefit of all the students in the college. We, in Coláiste Íde, appreciate the importance of regular exercise to ensure a healthy mind and body.
